Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 25, 2026 • Last Updated: August 25, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to ECargyan (accessible at ecargyan.com, referred to as “ECargyan”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We publish independent technical analysis, powertrain benchmarks, and industry intelligence on electric mobility and automotive engineering.

We are committed to operating transparently and respecting the privacy of our readers. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is processed, and our actual data handling practices across our website and edge infrastructure.

2. Information We Collect

We deliberately minimize data collection. We do not operate public user registration, reader profile systems, paywalls, or customer payment gateways.

A. Information Provided Voluntarily

  • Editorial Correspondence: If you contact our dispatch desk via email, we receive your email address, name (if provided), and the contents of your message. This correspondence is used exclusively to evaluate editorial tips, address factual correction requests, or collaborate on automotive research.

B. Information Processed Automatically by Edge Infrastructure

  • Network Transmission & Security Data: When you request a page on ECargyan, your browser transmits standard HTTP metadata (such as IP address, User-Agent header, operating system type, referring URL, and request timestamps). This information is processed in-transit by Cloudflare edge servers solely for delivering requested web pages, routing edge traffic, mitigating malicious bot attacks, and preventing Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attempts.

C. Administrative Account Credentials

  • Authorized Staff Only: For authorized editorial personnel who log in to the content management system, we maintain administrative credentials (email address, securely hashed passwords using PBKDF2/SHA-256, and operational audit logs) in our private database to safeguard publishing controls.

3. Cookies and Storage Technologies

ECargyan does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or commercial user profiling beacons.

  • Public Visitors: Browsing public articles on ECargyan requires zero cookies. We do not set persistent tracking cookies or store reader profiles in your browser’s localStorage or IndexedDB.
  • Administrative Sessions: When an authorized administrator logs into the editorial panel, a single signed, strictly necessary authentication session cookie (ecargyan_session) is issued. This cookie is marked HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and encrypted in transit over HTTPS.

4. Analytics and Measurement

We do not deploy client-side third-party analytics trackers (such as Google Analytics, tracking pixels, or session replay scripts) on public pages.

We utilize webmaster indexing tools (such as Google Search Console) to verify website discovery and sitemap health. These webmaster tools monitor search engine crawl status and aggregated search visibility; they do not collect or report individualized personal information from website visitors.

5. Artificial Intelligence (DeepSeek API)

Our editorial team utilizes server-side AI tools (DeepSeek API) to assist in organizing structured technical research gathered from public manufacturer specifications, engineering whitepapers, and verified automotive wire feeds.

Visitor Privacy Guarantee:

No reader personal information, email correspondence, or visitor network telemetry is ever transmitted to or processed by the DeepSeek API. DeepSeek processes only editorial reference material and prompt templates server-side.

6. Third-Party Infrastructure & Data Processors

To deliver fast, secure edge performance globally, we rely on trusted infrastructure providers:

Service Provider Role / Infrastructure Purpose Privacy Information
Cloudflare, Inc. Edge compute (Workers), database (D1), media storage (R2), and DDoS/DNS protection. Cloudflare Privacy Policy ↗

We do not share, rent, or sell visitor information to third-party data brokers, marketing networks, or behavioral advertisers.

7. Media and Image Hosting

Article illustrations, technical diagrams, and editorial assets are stored securely on Cloudflare R2 object storage and delivered via edge routing. Public readers cannot upload media to the platform.

8. Data Retention

  • Visitor Server Logs: Edge request logs handled by Cloudflare are retained temporarily for security auditing and diagnostic purposes according to standard network retention cycles.
  • Editorial Inquiries: Inquiries sent via email are retained only as long as necessary to address the correspondence or maintain editorial records of verified corrections.
  • Administrative Records: Audit logs and revision histories associated with content publication are retained to preserve editorial provenance.

9. Information Security

We employ technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect data integrity:

  • Strict TLS/HTTPS encryption across all public and administrative endpoints.
  • Server-side secret management with zero exposure of API credentials to client browsers.
  • Edge-level Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) protections blocking internal IP access.
  • Cryptographically signed session tokens and PBKDF2 password hashing for administrative access.

While we maintain rigorous security standards, no method of transmission or electronic storage over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure.

10. International Data Transfers

Because our platform operates on Cloudflare’s global edge network, technical request metadata may be processed by edge servers located in countries other than your country of residence. Data transfers are conducted in compliance with applicable international transfer frameworks supported by our infrastructure providers.

11. Children’s Privacy

ECargyan provides professional automotive engineering analysis and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable by law). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable privacy legislation (such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act in India, the General Data Protection Regulation in the European Economic Area, or the California Consumer Privacy Act in the United States), you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:

  • The right to request access to any personal correspondence we hold about you.
  • The right to request correction or deletion of your contact data.
  • The right to object to or restrict processing of your voluntary communications.

Because we do not maintain reader accounts or persistent user profiles, we may require proof of identity (such as contacting us from the corresponding email address) to process any inquiry.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our editorial operations, technical infrastructure, or legal obligations. When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.
